Eccentric People

Why do corporations not hire eccentric people?

I mean despite that eccentric people have been some of the greatest minds in history. Instead, employers want to hire people who live boring, normal everyday lives and don't try to be different even in their personal lives!!! Why is that???? Is this another example of the shallow mentality that comes from a tradtional, somewhat conservative society?

Hi! Well..we don't fit well in corporate jobs..it's just as simple as that. I would never apply to be a "suit"..it's just not my style. And don't even get me started on cubeville...:) I think most realize they're going to have to create a business(s) themselves..and just do it. I see no sense in trying to pound a round peg in a square hole.
Us eccentric people are unpredictable. Employers have a fixed ideal of what is right and what will work and they'd never deviate if their pants caught fire! So yes, Shallow and conservative mentality here folks!! But in their defence it is hard to know when a person skips along the fine line between eccentric and just out and out insane. I find disguises work for me!
These are alot of answers to this question, but I will just focus on a few key ones that are most aplicable. I What has been called the "Mconaldsization fo society" which is essentially a disenfranchisement of individuals in the Weberian and Marxian view of top-down economic models. Companies want meerly to seperate the workforce into 2 groups, the few elite top and the many confused workers. They strie to have workers who are moldable, replacable, and effieient, essentially they do not want "people" working for them, just intelligent machines they can exploit for the pure "working capital" i.e. the ammount of guantitative effort an indiviual can put into the system. eccentric people do work corporate jobs, we just know how to act professional when the situation calls for it. Immature people, however, do not fit well in corporate jobs. Trust me, you probably don't know near as much as you think about your co-workers personal lives.
Coz the Eccentric ones are normally bosses....who make things happen!
